Hi Lon,

Thanky Cap'n. You wouldn't, uh, happen to need a cheap VCR or microwave wouldya?
Just kiddin! None my neighbors got nothin' worth stealin'. I'll be glad when they all come back, maybe we can still manage a hurricane party.
I'm fixin' to go in town to Super Wally World. The news this morning said that since 150,000 people evacuated, there was actually an empty parking space. I don't need nothin', I just want to see it for myself.
"Now, I think I'll get the wheelbarrow and stroll the deserted neighborhood. The missus has a birthday coming up and wants a new TV."
Understand, Nunna Ya? The sight of me standing in my doorway holding my shotgun will help Lon decide he wants my neighbor's televison set instead of mine.
Just kidding, Lon. Race ya for the parking space!
The sight of me standing in my doorway holding my shotgun...
Now there's a picture for ya..specially if'n Pammy is still in her nighty.
After Andrew the problem was that folks standing in their doorway with a shotgun were standing in a doorway that lead straight to the backyard. I cannot fault them for wanting to shoot the first *#&@#% who showed up wanting to shift through what was left of their worldly goods, damned if I wouldn't shoot the rat-bastard too.
Lon,
Glad you lucked out. Hope that all of us coastal dwellers continue to have such good luck.
Oh, one other thing that I've been meaning to get to...
Lon stated that he had been busy "Putting plywood on the windows, storing lawn furniture and pot plants..."
Damn son, if ya need a place to store those plants for the next storm give ol' Unk a call would ya. Your pot plants will be safe with me, honest.
No, no Unk! I meant potted plants. You know, those things the missus keeps so you can kill them the first time she goes away for the weekend.
I'm still struggling with the mental picture of a benightied Pammy, holding a '97 Winchester with the short barrel, like they used as trench guns in WW1.
Just think, Unk, 4 more storms this year, and we could have a hurricane "Pammy". That one would be guaranteed touble!
?The brave, and some would say, fool hardy young Navy pilots struggled to guide their plane, pitching and shuddering, into the eye of Hurricane Pammy. As the hellacious winds tore at the very skin of the flying machine, and moaned through the loosened rivets, it seemed to be saying, ?Hiya sailor, looking? for a good time??

Yeah baby! I love that moaning part!
I found just the website for you guys.
